Problem or Opportunity: It’s a Choice

Within every situation there is a potential spiral that takes you to a point of choice. Having the where-with-all to be present to this choice is the opportunity. To the degree we are conscious of the possibility to choose in the moment is related to several factors.  Cultural and family imprints influence an automatic response in how we interact in the world on a day-to-day basis.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. ~Viktor Frankl

Your conscious mind is leader of your choices in  any given moment. However, your unconscious material is the manager of what gets put into action based on your attitude, response and concept of time.

Take a look at The Coherence Continuum: Copyright from Resonance Repatterning© and Chloe Faith Wordsworth

Being oriented to the present is where all opportunities exist. When more of your experiences are managed by unconscious material, you react from the habitual and automatic responses. Many times, the reaction is based on a stress-induced response, a belief that might have worked in the past or a place of confusion when the material is from an unresolved issue.

The more chaos you experience, the more likely you are to experience a shift in your breath, less ability to see details and all the options in front of you. Your ability to see the big picture narrows along with your ability to see solutions.

Your attitude, response, and sense of time, in turn, affect how you respond to a situation.

1)  Attitude: Seeing a situation as a chore, a problem that has no end, or from a place of blame for self and/or others actually limits your access to new possibilities.  A change in attitude towards seeing your process as one of personal evolution with learning potential within your experience allows for opportunities for growth and potential for greater wholeness and healing.

2)  Response: When you respond from the place of helplessness, confusion and blame, the likelihood of getting your needs met diminish greatly.  In fact, these responses are actually symptoms of feelings and needs underneath. When you respond from a place of naming and understanding your feelings, needs and are able to focus on the vitality of getting in touch with the underlying message of your experience, positive change becomes an option.  You can then ask what it is you truly need.

3)  Sense of Space and Time:  Experiencing life through the filter of limitation actually changes how you absorb, integrate and use energy in your body-mind system. Your breathing patterns, movement and ability to see all change when stress increases. The cycle of energy in your body-mind system is dependent on the quality of function, expansion and centering, integrating and releasing. When you are caught in a cycle of limitation in any area of your body-mind system, it affects how you experience life from moment to moment. You are less likely to see the big picture, the perspective of another and experience a connection to support. Worry, fear, anger and distrust of your inner experience becomes more  painful when there is a sense of never being able  to resolve an issue. When you resonate with the opportunity as a message that points to an unmet need you can then move towards positive awareness and new possibilities.

Knowing that all of your experiences are teachers can help you to fully move through unresolved emotional, mental, physical or spirit challenges. When you are able to take the insight and information from an earlier experience to apply to a present situation, and learn from the process, there is an opportunity to expand into greater love, empowerment, empathy and joy.  This, in turn, helps you to tune-in more directly to the present situation and increases your ability to communicate with another.  Breathing, seeing and experiencing the present more fully allows for greater capacity for resolution of issues, compassion, and empowerment.
